The Tippen Davidson Award for the Arts

EST. 2001

The annual Tippen Davidson Award for the Arts, established by the Volusia County Cultural Alliance, honors individuals whose leadership and enduring commitment have significantly advanced cultural endeavors in Volusia County.

Tippen Davidson’s legacy is defined by his steadfast dedication to the community and his generous personal and financial support of a broad range of cultural institutions, initiatives, and programs. Guided by a profound belief that a local newspaper bears a responsibility to enhance the quality of life within its community, Davidson led The News-Journal in championing more than 180 civic and cultural organizations and events.

The Tippen Davidson Award for the Arts stands as a tribute to his remarkable vision and serves to inspire those who continue to enrich and elevate the cultural life of our community with the same passion, generosity, and purpose.
